Work Experience

For much of the time I was pursuing my undergraduate education I was working while balancing being a full-time student, Bonner Scholar, volunteering, and many other expectations. I was able to work at two notable places of employment and learned a variety of skills from both roles.

From September of 2022 to April of 2024 I worked for Indiana University Indianapolis as a Desk Assistant. I was responsible for many things during my time working in this role.

​

My role as a Desk Assistant at Indiana University Indianapolis  included responsibilities such as:

  • Answering calls and providing assistance to callers.

  • Logging in resident mail to the mail system and organizing mail in the required manner.

  • Checking residents mail out from the system to give to them.

  • Providing tours of the building to families and prospect students.

  • Helping locked out residents getting into their rooms.

  • Routine maintenance on residence hall doors.

  • Linking residents to necessary assistance.

From July of 2025 to September of 2025 I worked for Beacon of Hope Crisis Center as an Prevention Support Specialist. This role came with many responsibilities.

​

My role as the Prevention Support Specialist at Beacon of Hope Crisis Center  included responsibilities such as:

  • Answering calls incoming crisis calls.

  • Completing intakes with callers.

  • Logging client information into data system.

  • Researching assistance for clients.

  • Working with clients inquiring about animal fostering.

  • Creating social media graphics and designs.

  • Creating trainings for interns.

  • Editing and creating internal agency reference documents.

I recently started a new role as of December 1, 2025. I have returned to working with Beacon of Hope Crisis Center as the Volunteer Recruiter and as such have been learning many new roles.

​

My role as the Volunteer Recruiter  at Beacon of Hope Crisis Center  included responsibilities such as:

  • Speaking with prospective applicants to intern program.

  • Scheduling interviews and holding interviews with applicants.

  • Reaching out to necessary references.

  • Creating semester long curriculum for interns.

  • Creating trainings for interns.

  • Monitoring and logging all intern data for the program.

  • Emailing interns their assigned tasks before their shifts.

  • Linking interns to staff members to shadow calls.

  • Going to outreach events with interns

Mail organization and logging was the largest part of my job at this organization.

This position was for Foster Pet Program at this organization so my clients were all pet related.

The largest responsibility of my current job is scheduling and holding intern interviews.
