PBHL-A215 Final Project & Presentation
The Impact of COVID-19 on STI Transmission
This is the final project for PGBHL-A215, Storytelling with Data. I took this class in the Fall semester of 2024. This was an individual project that we got to pick the topic of and do our own research to find relevant data, and then make our own graphical depictions of the data found. I chose to do my project on the impact of COVID-19, specifically the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, on the transmission of STIs during the same time period.

"By analyzing the reasons for the STI rates decreasing or stabilizing, we can learn how to achieve these goals continuously moving forward. Seeing at least a stabilization in STI rates moving forward would be extremely impactful and beneficial to not only public health but also to the medical field."

The above are graphical depictions I made using the data I found during my research. These graphs were included in my final presentation due to the clearly represented differences and the trends depicted.
What I learned
I wanted to showcase this assignment for many reasons. This project was the final result of a semesters worth of learning and effort. This project was also my first in depth experience with working with data and doing my own research to find relevant data and compare my findings. I believe that this project greatly contributed to my knowledge of data and also shows the skills I have in displaying it in both an appropriate and visually appealing manner.
